Abstract
Background and Objective: Findings show that there are many factors which affect drug abuse relapse of addicts subject to treatment and when the patient is treated, we can't definitely hope he won't have further drug abuse. Then, this study aims to examine factors and reasons effective on addiction relapse and to provide suitable approaches in relapse prevention.
Materials and methods: The present study is of descriptive analytical type and its statistical population has included all self-reported addicts referring to Kosar outpatient rehabilitation center of Abadan city and non- addiction test of all patient who were 200 persons has been examined in 2015 and for data analysis descriptive and inferential statistics have been used.
Findings: Based on the research results, it was specified that factors like age, occupation status (being employed or unemployed), marital status and presence of abuser in family and also type of consumed stuff (morphine, crystal) have a significant relation with drug abuse relapse and factors like the patient habitancy place, education level and birth order don’t have a significant relation with drug abuse relapse.
Discussion and conclusion: For preventing from addiction relapse of recovered addicts, restraining the patient association with drug abusers, developing appropriate programs for youth occupation and marriage and more training for opposing with crystal consumption temptation by professional consultants, also patients awareness about irrecoverable consequences of crystal consumption by therapists during treatment seem necessary.
